Who's writing
I'm Dr. Ting. I went to medical school in New York City, which is where I first walked past the Stock Exchange on the way to something else and stopped to look. Medicine taught me to work from a checklist, write everything down, and never trust a feeling I couldn't measure. It turns out that's most of trading, too.
DocTrader is my notebook made public: the names I'm watching, a short update before the open every trading day, and the rules I follow when I'd rather not. I manage my own money. I'm not a financial advisor, and nothing here is advice — see the disclaimer below, which I mean every word of.
Why public
It's harder to move a stop when you've written the stop down where other people can see it. A public notebook is a commitment device first and a website second. If it's useful to anyone else, that's a bonus.
What's here

What it isn't
- Not advice. I'm not a registered investment advisor, broker, or planner. Nothing here is tailored to you.
- Not a signal service. No alerts, no Discord, no “join to see my entries.” The watchlist is public and free with the reason attached; that's the whole product.
- Not a course, and not sponsored. Nothing to buy, no affiliate links, no broker referrals. If that ever changes it will say so on the home page.

Plain HTML and CSS on GitHub Pages, with a little JavaScript to draw the dashboard from one watchlist file. Live market data comes from TradingView's free embeddable widgets, straight from their servers to your browser — nothing is collected or stored here. No analytics, no cookies, no email capture.
Contact
Corrections, process questions, and “you should write about X” are welcome. Requests for picks or “what do you think of [ticker] right now” get a polite link to the disclaimer.
I read everything; replies take a few days.
Common questions
Will you tell me whether to buy something?
No. See the disclaimer. I'm happy to talk about process — writing a plan, sizing, journaling — and that's more useful anyway.
Where do the earnings dates come from?
I enter them by hand from company investor-relations pages and the exchange calendars, and each one has a “verify” link on the dashboard. Companies move dates; check before you rely on one.
What time does the Morning Update post?
Before the 6:30 a.m. Pacific open on trading days. If it's late, the market opened anyway.
Can I quote the updates?
Quote with a link back and that's fine. Please don't strip the disclaimer.
